Arsia mons September 21, 2018: orographic cloud???

Newly released ESA image capturing the plume over Arsia Mons on September 21, 2018.Compare this image to the one shown by Dr Tanya Harrison and you decide if this is an orographic cloud or not (see https://www.facebook.com/PianetaMarte.MdM/photos/a.1625578140858706/1916650465084804/). The mystery thickens and even though ESA insists on calling it an orographic cloud of water ice my personal reluctance to accept this view is increasingly motivated. In… Read More »Arsia mons September 21, 2018: orographic cloud???

Arsia mons September 17, 2018: the beginning!

Newly released ESA image showing the emergence of the plume on Arsia Mons!I had already shown an image from September 16 in which the plume was absent, but the first subsequent image taken by the Mars Webcam in which the plume appeared was from September 19. Now instead, thanks to this image, we can date the beginning of the phenomenon to September 17, 2018.This image… Read More »Arsia mons September 17, 2018: the beginning!

Dr Tanya Harrison replies!

Yesterday, viewing a comment on Twitter, Dr. Tanya Harrison stated that the “orographic cloud” is over this volcano specifically because of the season, since it is in the southern hemisphere. During the boreal summer, when the atmosphere contains more steam, we can see clouds like this over all the large volcanoes (see https://twitter.com/tanyaofmars/status/1054436222016217088). Since I personally have only seen Arsia Mons produce such narrow and… Read More »Dr Tanya Harrison replies!

Stratified mound in Juventae Chasma

Beautiful image taken by ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter’s Colour and Stereo Surface Imaging System (CaSSIS) on October 2, 2018.The image covers an area of 25 X 7 kilometers and depicts a mound just north of the Marineris Valley already extensively studied by Mars Express and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) for its sulfate deposits, indicative of the past presence of water… This post has been… Read More »Stratified mound in Juventae Chasma

Arsia Mons, October 24, 2018: the volcano with a mustache!

In this image taken at 08:52:23 UT by the Mars Webcam is still clearly visible the plume that starts from the west side of Arsia Mons officially classified as “orographic cloud”!Although the ESA has done its best to deny the geological nature of this formation, stating that it is a recurring phenomenon that strangely affects only Arsia Mons, it has not yet provided any explanation… Read More »Arsia Mons, October 24, 2018: the volcano with a mustache!

Seismic activity on Mars?

Finally the echoes of my and Matteo Fagone’s researches have crossed the ocean!Barry Roffman and his son David have analyzed several aspects of the transient activities documented by us, not least the famous plume on Arsia Mons.Who would like to exclude a priori the volcanic hypothesis because Mars would be a “dead planet” should at least know that the last signs of geological activity on… Read More »Seismic activity on Mars?

ESA denies: it is not a volcanic eruption, it is an orographic cloud

Jorge Hernández and other scientists of the Mars Express team have declared on Twitter the meteorological nature of the plume that for more than a month originates from the west side of Arsia Mons. Nevertheless, Hernández adds that it is still an interesting phenomenon and that at the moment it is still being studied. He also adds that he prefers to avoid publishing hasty conclusions… Read More »ESA denies: it is not a volcanic eruption, it is an orographic cloud

Mars, Arsia Mons, Oct. 22, 2018

At 07:48:08 UT the Mars Webcam captures this new image of the plume of Arsia Mons. In this image the plume seems shorter, but this could also depend on the proximity to the terminator. The peculiarity of this new image is the curious “twisted” structure of the plume itself certainly due to the winds but still to be investigated … Titled image: https://image.ibb.co/jS5rWV/44581955725-7b3c4dabec-o.jpg Original image:… Read More »Mars, Arsia Mons, Oct. 22, 2018

Arsia Mons, October 20, 2018: The eruption continues!

At 06:51:53 UT the Mars Webcam has taken this new image where it appears more than evident the persistence of the now famous plume on Arsia Mons. The phenomenon persists now for more than a month, since the first sighting dates back to September 19!Also continues the media aggression against me, even if personally I do not care and I continue on my way without having… Read More »Arsia Mons, October 20, 2018: The eruption continues!

Arsia Mons, October 16, 2018: The eruption no one is telling you about!

At 03:13:24 UT the Mars Webcam has finally taken this new image where it appears more than evident the persistence of the now famous plume on Arsia Mons. The phenomenon persists for almost a month now but the media continue to pretend nothing, or at worst “disassemble” it labeling it as a trivial orographic cloud. I have already explained how “ignorant” the hypothesis of the orographic… Read More »Arsia Mons, October 16, 2018: The eruption no one is telling you about!
